About Guildford Basketball Club

The Guildford Basketball Club was formed in February 2004 with the aim of organizing and developing basketball in Guildford. The club is heavily involved in basketball in the borough, running a number of local teams and sessions.

The clubs senior men's squad, the Guildford Goats, have been competing in the Surrey Basketball League since the start of 2005, and currently have teams entered into both the Surrey premier and 1st men's divisions.

The club took the reigns of the boroughs basketball teams for the Surrey Youth Games again this year, running sessions up until the event, and coaching the boy's team on the day. The clubs other coaching activities include coaching the men and women's BUSA squads at the University of Surrey, along with coaching sessions for the Guildford Heat's Surrey Academy.

This summer sees the second year of the club competing in the Tandridge mixed summer league. The club is looking to form a senior women's squad to enter into the Surrey League alongside our men's squads in the foreseeable future. We are hopeful that our involvement with the mixed summer leagues and University of Surrey women’s teams will help to push this process on.
